Abstract: |
Sample of death records from the Hospital of the Holy House of Mercy of Guimarães (1838–1845), recorded by the institution’s clerk. Entries include date of hospital admission, date of death, name, marital status, age, place of birth, and residence. For married or widowed individuals, the spouse is identified; for single individuals, parents are not always noted. Professions are usually recorded for men, less frequently for women. Records indicate administration of sacraments, place of burial, and cause of death (noted in the margin). This file provides a simplified sample; complete records are available in the National Genealogical Repository (<a href="https://porgener.csarmento.uminho.pt/" target="_blank">https://porgener.csarmento.uminho.pt/</a>)<p> <p>Amostra de registo de óbitos do Hospital da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Guimarães entre 1838 e 1845, efetuados pelo escrivão da Santa Casa. Em cada registo identifica-se a data de entrada no hospital e a data de óbito, para além do nome, estado civil, idade, naturalidade e residência. No caso de ser casado ou viúvo identifica o consorte. Nos solteiros nem sempre identifica os progenitores. No caso dos homens, em regra, é referida a profissão, o que não é tão comum nas mulheres. Refere sempre se foram administrados os sacramentos e o local de sepultura. Na margem do registo é registada a causa de morte. <p>Este ficheiro contém uma amostra simplificada de registos de óbitos do Hospital da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Guimarães entre 1838 e 1845. Os registos dos indivíduos estão disponíveis no Repositório Genealógico Nacional (<a href=" https://porgener.csarmento.uminho.pt/" target="_blank">https://porgener.csarmento.uminho.pt/</a>), completados, sempre que possível, com outras informações do trajeto de vida. |
