It aims to fill a research gap by providing scholars with a comprehensive mapping of graphic novels published in Brazil and Portugal that engage with this issue of gender-based violence, namely, any harm carried out against someone because of their sex, gender, and/or gender identity. Notwithstanding the emerging trend of feminist graphic narratives and the growing body of related research, no systematic overview has yet been conducted on comics and graphic novels specifically addressing the theme of gender-based violence in the Lusohpone context.</dcterms:description><dcterms:subject>Arts and Humanities</dcterms:subject><dcterms:subject>Social Sciences</dcterms:subject><dcterms:subject>Graphic Novels, Gender, Violence, Mapping</dcterms:subject><dcterms:language>English</dcterms:language><dcterms:contributor>Balbé, Alice</dcterms:contributor><dcterms:dateSubmitted>2025-06-07</dcterms:dateSubmitted><dcterms:temporal>2009</dcterms:temporal><dcterms:temporal>2025</dcterms:temporal><dcterms:type>Mapping of graphic novels published in Brazil and Portugal that engage with this issue of gender-based violence</dcterms:type><dcterms:source>The mapping considers 41 graphic novels published between 2009 and 2025 in Portugal and Brazil, all of which focus on gender issues.</dcterms:source><dcterms:spatial>Brazil</dcterms:spatial><dcterms:spatial>Portugal</dcterms:spatial><dcterms:license>NONE</dcterms:license><dcterms:rights>
This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.</dcterms:rights><dcterms:rights>This document must be restricted until at least July 2026.</dcterms:rights></metadata>
